Video Poker
Rules
Video Poker is a combination of the traditional Poker and a slot machine with
a few wild cards (jokers) added. It is a fast-paced game with a good number of
options. Players can choose from "Jacks or Better", "Deuces Wild", "All
American", "Poker Joker" , and many other variants. Each variation has its
specific properties and awards the winner for a specific type of game played. A
Video Poker accepts from 1 to 5 coins, and the more money is wagered the game
pays more. If you know poker hands and you learn this game, it may become a fast
monet maker giving yoiu plenty of fun at the same time.
Each Video Poker machine has its own strategy. For example: All American pays
more for a Straight and Flush. Those characteristics will influence you play.
Objective
In all Poker versions, the objective of the game is to have a better hand
than the dealer's. All payouts are displayed on the machine so the player may
easily learn which of them are the most profitable. Poker hands of various Video
Poker versions are the same, but some of the variants may have additional ones,
specific for that particular machine.
Betting
Betting is extremely easy. Each machine allows the player to select the
desired amount of wager ( $0.25, $0.50, $1, or $5). The player can play from one
to five coins at the same time. If $1 coin is selected, the the player can
wager: $1, $2, $3, $4, or $5.
Payout
Each machine displayes a payout table for each card combination and the
amount of wager. The maximum bet is the most profitable. Inteligent players
select the coin value they feel most comforable with and chose suitable
machines.
If you want to bet $5, select $1- coin value and bet the maximum bet (Max
Bet). This will result in your bet being $5. If you like fast-paced game and
prfer to bet $25, select $5-coin value and bet the maximum amount. In each of
the cases above you stand the best chance at the highest payout. It is a
strategy similar to that for slot machines.
The payout amount changes from game to game. Where „Jacks or Better" payes
25:1 for four-of-a-kind, „All American" usually pays 30:1, and „Poker Joker"
does only 20:1. The higher the payout the lower the odd of winning is not
nassecery the case. It's worth it to get to know the machine before you start
palying it.
Strategies
Odds
The chances of winning with a given hand vary depending on the type of Video
Poker but the casino advatage is relatively small, in some cases the House has a
0% edge. Casinos have an advantage only on those machines where players don't
follow the optimal strategy.

"Jokers wild"
Remember that only King and Ace are high cards, the game is called "Kings or
better"
General strategy:
·
keep a Joker if you get it. Jokers
turn up only once in ten hands, on average;
·
Don't keep an inside Straight;
·
Straight Flushes pay well and they
occur more frequently than in "Jacks or Better" Video Poker.
"All American"
Straights and Flushes pay well here so that will tip the strategy in their
favour:
·
Prefer inside Straights over one
or two high cards;
·
Prefer 4 card outside Straights
and 4 card flushes over any pairs, even high ones;
·
Hold any three cards to a Flush.
